Material Choices
WoodgeniX can work in any wood, laminate, or medium desired
Examples:
Wood Veneer: veneer refers to thin slices of wood, usually thinner than 3 mm, that are glued onto core panels to produce flat panels. It is real wood and requires finishing, care, and maintenance just like other real wood furniture.
HPL (High-Pressure Laminate): is plastic laminate made up of several layers of craft paper saturated in resin with a photographic layer and a top film layer, compressed under heat and pressure to create a hard, dense sheet. The photographic layer is the color or woodgrain, and the top film layer creates the finish (gloss, matte, satin, etc)
TFL (Thermofused Laminate): is a thin layer consisting of just the photographic and top melamine film layers referenced above. It is pressed directly onto the board or panel without the craft paper layers beneath. It is durable and looks identical to HPL above but is not as thick and is less costly.
3DL (Three-Dimensional Laminate): is a resilient layer of vinyl heated and vacuum-formed directly to the wood panel. The wood panel component needs to be shaped and prepared prior to the vacuum-forming process. The vinyl is formed to the panel using heat with the vacuum process.
